Recently, Palestine ISD was re-awarded the 21 st Century CCLC grant from TEA. The grant provides resources to maintain afterschool programs to eligible students at five PISD campuses. Campuses included in the program are: Palestine High School, Palestine Junior High School, A.M. Story Intermediate School, Southside Elementary School and Northside Elementary School.

Programs will be open Monday through Friday after school. Each campus will be open at times deemed appropriate based on campus need.

The purpose of the program is to ensure that students graduate and are ready for college and/or career. The four components included in the program are academic support; enrichment opportunities; family engagement and education; as well as college/career preparation. This exciting program will provide students opportunities to participate in activities such as 
film-making, sewing, welding, theater, photography, robotics, cooking, homework support, and tutoring. In addition, parents will have opportunities to improve their own knowledge and skills through classes such as helping students with homework, learning English, and parenting through our Parent University.




Recientemente , al Distrito Escolar de Palestine se le otorgó la subvención CCLC 21st Century de TEA. La beca ofrece recursos económicos adicionales para proporcionar programas después de la escuela para estudiantes elegibles en cinco campus de PISD . Los c ampus incluidos en el programa son: Palestine High School , Junior High School, Story Intermediate School, Southside Elementary School  y Northside Elementary School .

Los programas estarán abiertos de lunes a viernes después de la escuela . Cada escuela estará abierta el tiempo que considere convenientes según las necesidades del campus.

El propósito del programa es asegurar que los estudiantes se gradúen y estén listos para la universidad y/o campo de trabajo ( carrera). Los cuatro componentes que se incluyen en el programa serán el apoyo académico , oportunidades de enriquecimiento , participación de la familia y la educación, así como la preparación para la universidad / carrera. Este emocionante programa proporcionará a los estudiantes la 
oportunidad de participar en actividades como creación de películas, costura, soldadura, teatro, fotografía, robótica, cocina, ayuda con la tarea , y asesorías (tutoriales). Además, los padres tendrán la oportunidad de mejorar sus conocimientos y habilidades a través de clases, tales como ayudar a los estudiantes con sus tareas , aprender Inglés , y la educaci ón a través de nuestra Universidad para Padres .

As a member of the Palestine High School class of 1995, Mr. Hooe graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005 with a degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Science. His studies focused on Recreation Administration and Youth Development.

He worked in Los Angeles, Garland, and Fort Worth with at-risk youth, and served in various communities throughout Texas focusing on youth programming, summer day camps, after school programs, and school holiday camps.

His desire to help students brought him and his family back to Palestine to help our students reach their fullest potential.
