Happy Presidents Day, everyone! Today we celebrate the inspiring leadership of America’s presidents—from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to those who have followed in their footsteps. Originally established to honor George Washington’s birthday, this day has evolved into a time to reflect on the legacy and vision of all our nation’s leaders. Whether you’re taking a well-deserved break or reflecting on history, let’s appreciate the guiding principles that have shaped our country. Enjoy the day and celebrate the spirit of leadership! 💙🤍♥️

OUR BLACK HISTORY
Thanks to Margaret Henderson Spurlock for sharing this photo of the Sunny South Jubilee Quartette. Second from the left is Ms. Spurlock’s grandfather Richard Henderson. Join the Wildcat Nation in telling OUR STORY during Black History Month. We are a community with a strong, and rich heritage. The work and efforts of numerous African American residents of Palestine and Anderson County in so many areas must be told and remembered. It must also be remembered the accomplishments were achieved in the face of incredible adversity. Take a moment to share, remember and retell OUR STORY.
This photo shows the military presence protecting African American's when they came to the Anderson County courthouse to vote for the first time.
