board certified teachers

Wildcat Nation is celebrating excellence!

Please join us in congratulating our newest National Board Certified Teachers:
Donna Alonso, Dana Mathews, and Mayra Hernandes from Northside Primary, and Faith Collins from Palestine High School.

This achievement places them among the best of the best—only 21% of Texas teachers and just 3% of teachers nationwide hold this prestigious credential. Here in Palestine ISD, we are proud to have 7 National Board Certified Teachers leading and inspiring our students every day.

What does it take to become National Board Certified?
Earning this certification requires teachers to complete a rigorous, multi-year process that includes:

  • In-depth reflection on their teaching practice

  • Demonstrating mastery of content and instructional strategies

  • Submitting classroom videos and student work samples

  • Passing challenging assessments designed to measure high-level teaching expertise

What does this certification mean?
It signifies the highest standard in the teaching profession. National Board Certified Teachers are recognized for their leadership, dedication, and proven ability to positively impact student learning. Their achievement strengthens our classrooms, our campuses, and our entire Wildcat community.

Congratulations again to these outstanding educators! Thank you for representing Palestine ISD with excellence and for the incredible work you do for our students every day.
