Palestine ISD to Provide Free Summer Meals for Children and Teens

PALESTINE, Texas — Palestine ISD will once again participate in the Summer Meals Program, providing free breakfast and lunch to children and teens throughout the summer months.

The program is designed to ensure students continue to have access to healthy, nutritious meals while school is not in session. Meals will be available for all children from birth through 18 years old, regardless of whether they are enrolled in summer school.

Meal Locations and Dates

Washington Early Childhood Center (ECC)
May 18 – June 11

A. M. Story Intermediate School and Palestine High School
May 26 – June 18

Meal Times

Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Meals for students attending summer school programs will be prioritized. Non-summer school guests will be served on a first-come, first-served basis as meals are available.

Adult visitors accompanying non-summer school children should be prepared to present identification when entering Palestine ISD facilities.

Palestine ISD officials say the summer meal program plays an important role in supporting the health and well-being of students during the summer break.

“Providing nutritious meals to children during the summer months is an important way we continue to serve and support our students and families beyond the classroom,” said Palestine ISD officials. “We encourage families throughout the community to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Families can also visit summerfood.org or call 211 for additional meal site information across Texas.
