Get ready to welcome some of the nation's brightest young innovators as the 2026 Solar Car Challenge – Cross-Texas Adventure makes an overnight stop in Palestine!
On Sunday, July 19, more than 20 high school teams from across the United States will arrive at Palestine High School, showcasing the solar-powered vehicles they designed, engineered, and built from the ground up. This nationally recognized STEM competition challenges students to put science, engineering, technology, teamwork, and innovation into action as they race more than 600 miles across Texas.

Come meet the student teams, see these incredible solar-powered cars up close, and learn how the next generation of engineers is shaping the future of transportation and renewable energy.
This is a unique opportunity for students, families, educators, and our community to experience one of the country's premier project-based STEM programs right here in Palestine! The Solar Car Challenge has inspired more than 80,000 students and has been recognized as one of the nation's top science and engineering education programs.
