After 32 years of faithful service to Palestine ISD, Nurse Cheryl Walding is retiring from Southside Elementary School. For more than three decades, Cheryl has been the comforting presence in the nurse’s office, the calm in every storm, and the steady hand that students, staff, and parents can always count on. She has contributed to so much more than just the role of school nurse! Whether it is a scraped knee, a fever, or just a hug on a hard day, Nurse Walding gives every child the care and attention they need! Cheryl, your legacy of kindness and care will never be forgotten. Thank you for your extraordinary commitment and the love you’ve shown to every student, family, and staff who has walked through your door. You’ve made a difference in so many lives, and now it’s time to enjoy the next chapter you so richly deserve. Congratulations on your retirement, Nurse Walding! We love Mr. Quarles, our bus drivers, monitors, mechanics, secretaries and everyone else in the Transportation Department! They work tirelessly to get our students to and from school everyday safely, as well as, drive field trips and countless other school related trips.
